I don't have any updates on what the new owners are doing, the last I heard they were going to open January the 1st . For breakfast lunch and dinner and have a taco bar after 7. As far is I can see nothing has happened yet to the building. Sorry I can't answer your questions at this time if I hear anything I will let you know.

I could go for some Ann's Fried chicken right now . The Colonol hasn't been the same since the 70s & 80s.

This one's on the back of the cabinet door. On top is whipped topping just a name brand we used at the restaurant. They have it at the GFS store or you can substitute Cool Whip. Please let me know if you like it.

Here is one of the recipes I promised before Thanksgiving. This recipe is still on Mom's refrigerator today. Dad loved so many of Mom's meals and desserts as we all did, she was such a wonderful cook. A good old-fashioned Country Cook not a chef that's what she would tell you there is a difference. I love the note she left, it is also on the refrigerator still. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving this is a easy recipe that you can get together and have with your family. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. If you get a chance to try it. please post comments about it and let me know if you liked it, I will post more as soon as time will allow.

It's been a crazy time for us the restaurant is closed now. We will begin working on the cookbook everyone is asking for. it will take some time to get together as we are still getting everything together. I will be posting some recipes on here as we go. some family photographs too. Thank you so much for 28 years at Spring & Market .

Almost done time to turn out the lights. If Ken & Ann we're here and maybe they were. they would want to thank all of our loyal employees that have stuck with us through all the hard times and all the times I had to be in the hospital with Mom and Dad , They kept things afloat. If you look at the posts on this page one of the things I'm proudest of is how many people commented on how friendly our employees were to them and how they felt like they were at home with family. Where can you go to get that kind of treatment nowadays. You guys are the best, you all are not just employees you have been family to me and always will be, I love you and wish you all the best. I had so many people come up to me over the last week or so and tell me that they had so many good memories with family members that have passed on and they remember when they used to come in and eat with them at Ann's, one girl said she gets carry-out meals and takes them home and it still reminds her of her grandmother, she said every time her grandmother would take a bite she would say mmmm. And that meant it was really good. Thank you for 28 years of support to are loyal customers we have always appreciated you and you are family too. Thank you from everyone at a Ann's.

It's going to be a day filled with smiles, tears and memories. Please come and see us on our final day open. hours today or 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. we thank everyone for 28 years of support we will miss you all. Today we're having marinated pork tenderloin. Roast beef Manhattan's. Southern Fried Chicken. Hand breaded cod and catfish help us make the last day a good one. As The Waltons used to say goodnight John Boy !

Homemade vegetable beef soup getting ready to simmer for about 3 hours. Thursday porkchop day too.

I finally found a new train engine. Kids " & adults " can blow the train whistle. We have probably been thru 12 or more engines through the years. About 30 years ago Mom & Dad gave us 3 sons a starter set each we decided to put them together and hang the track from the ceiling in the main dining room. It has traveled thousands of miles since.
